The Experimental Toxicology Unit at INERIS develops research tools and original data (following Good Laboratory Practices standards) on the health effects of environmental pollutants. Four lines of research are followed:
-
Pulmonary toxicology and immunotoxicology: focuses on the understanding of the effects of mixtures of pollutants and allergens, using in vivo and in vitro methods
|
-
Neurotoxicology: investigates the possible effects of electromagnetic fields on the central nervous system.
|
-
Reproductive and developmental toxicology: studies the chronic toxicity of glycol ethers and the mode of action of endocrine disruptors.
|
-
Toxicokinetics/Modeling/Biostatistics: develops mathematical models and methods suitable for hazard and risk assessment.
